I have practiced in eastern North Carolina for over 36 years, and this section collects the how-to answers I find myself giving clients week after week.

A police report contains the officer's diagram, witness names, and often a fault narrative that shapes every conversation with the insurer afterward. Traffic and business camera footage is routinely overwritten within days or weeks, so knowing who to ask, whether the city, NCDOT, or a private business, and asking fast can preserve the single best piece of evidence in the case.
